RNC Blasts Obama’s Minority Outreach After Steele Called For GOP Minority Outreach

As you may have heard, the Republican National Committee is now accusing Obama of making an "an appeal based on class warfare and race" in his recent video rallying supporters for the 2010 elections.

That's based on Obama's call for supporters to work hard to make sure that "young people, African Americans, Latinos and women who powered our victory in 2008 stand together once again."

The RNC's claim that this quote from Obama constitutes a "racial" appeal is questionable to begin with. But there's another dimension here worth considering: By taking this route, the RNC threatens to undo one of the few good things about Michael Steele's tenure — his frank acknowledgment that the GOP should do better when it comes to minority outreach.
