List of SOPA supporters: Apply the pressure #p2 #tcot

from http://www.deathandtaxesmag.com/171952/list-of-sopa-supporters-apply-the-pressure/

January is a critical month in the legislative process surrounding the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). It was set to come to a committee and House floor vote in December, but chief sponsor Lamar Smith (R-TX) rescheduled the vote for January. With the new year upon us and little time to spare to stop SOPA, efforts must be redoubled.

What we have here with SOPA is a piece of legislation drafted by politicians, bureaucrats and corporate lobbyists without the input of internet engineers, the very people who created its protocols and maintain its infrastructure. Indeed, it is as if a viewer of "E.R." were given the power to rewrite the rules on surgery.

Below is a list of SOPA supporters. Let them know your displeasure by spreading the word to others, blogging about SOPA (and its supporters), and by contacting supporters via email and phone.

After the list you will find a video of Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) discussing online piracy and SOPA. (Read up on Wyden's alternative bill OPEN Act.) And read the Death and Taxes interview with Firefox add-on DeSopa developer Tamer Rizk on the subject of SOPA.
