Seems the last time a president tried to provide for the American people was LBJ (overshadowed, though, by getting a substantial number of America's youth killed in Vietnam).

One reason Americans hate taxes so much is that we have no concept we can get anything for our deductions except war. Looks like Obama's trying to show us that there's more to government.
