Conservatives who couldn't get enough undercover video footage when the target was ACORN will no doubt be screaming for heads to roll over the report and accompanying video, produced by the City of New York (Nazifascistsocialismists!), documenting that a shocking 63% of private sellers at gun shows tested were perfectly willing to sell to buyers who admitted up front that they probably couldn't pass a background test.
The so-called "gun show loophole" exempts "private dealers" from having to conduct such background checks. But the law does prohibit private dealers who have reason to believe a buyer couldn't pass such a background check from completing those sales.
But they don't give a crap, and most never have.

Sale after sale after sale where private dealers being told point blank that their buyer probably couldn't pass a background check, but the cash changes hands, and the buyers are scooted out the door. Often by sellers who themselves say they couldn't pass background checks, either.
