Limbaugh: I'm Not "Defend[ing]" BP, Just "Stand[ing] Up" For "The American Way"

Rush Limbaugh started off today's show by lauding Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) for his "home run" apology to BP and for having the "audacity" to describe the BP escrow account as a "shakedown" because, according to Rush, that's exactly what it is, "pure and simple." Rush stated that the escrow account represents "far more than thugocracy"; rather, it is ideological -- "straight out of the Communist Manifesto." Limbaugh also criticized President Obama for his handling of the oil spill, opining that cleaning up the spill isn't a priority for Obama because it "furthers his agenda." Realizing that he was coming off as defending BP, Rush attempted to dismiss the idea by stating that he was actually "standing up for principles and the American way."

Switching gears, Rush derisively stated that "environmentalist wackos" and "leftists" should be happy that China is slated to surpass the U.S. in manufacturing because "manufacturing is just filth." Rush then suggested "export[ing] all these wacko leftist cultural ideas" -- which include "environmentalist wackos, union thugs, illegal aliens and community organizers" -- to China and Japan in order to retain the U.S. edge on manufacturing.

Rush also read a CNN Money piece concerning a new study that found that the mortgage crisis is hitting African-American and Latino communities harder than whites. Not surprised by the results and in the mood to regurgitate the affordable housing myth, Rush lambasted Sen. Chris Dodd and Rep. Barney Frank for deciding that minorities were "worthy of homes and special deals when they couldn't afford them."
