Late Night: Glenn Beck Boils His Own Narrative from Firedoglake

http://firedoglake.com/2009/09/24/late-night-glenn-beck-boils-his-own-narrative/

Keep digging, Lonesome.

Alert the media! I'm beginning to suspect that maybe Glenn Beck really isn't all that clever. Earlier this week, in an interview with Katie Couric

Beck said he was "sorry" for the way he "phrased" the claim, but still contended that it's a "serious question" as to whether Obama is a racist.

Even though the buffoonish and childish Beck thought he was outwitting Couric by coyly refusing to answer Couric's rather simple question --"what do you mean by 'white culture'?"-- his ploy backfired. Instead, Katie Couric reiterated the phrase "white culture" at least five times and allowed the rest of the sentient world (those who didn't already) see what a mendacious, unprincipled, hollow  . . . and, well, stupid . . . douche he really is.  To wit:

BECK: Really? It's amazing to me that, for the first time, I think in history somebody can ask a question and say, "Don't you think that maybe we have several pieces here?" We have several pieces; George Bush [sic] says my grandmother was a typical African-American that had, that had her views bred into her. You don't think maybe we would ask questions about that comment? How is it that the first time I think in history, you should check on it, somebody says, "Hey. There's some red flags here maybe we should look at?" … How am I? How am I the target for asking questions?

Oh, golly, I don't know. Maybe because the dishonest questions he asks ARE fucking racist?! Maybe because almost every day since Obama was elected, that faux hayseed has been on the idiot box spitting out vile, deceitful bullshit about the President, all the while mugging for cameras with that "aw-shucks" Goober rictus, or weeping big, mentholated crocodile tears and generally engaging in such outrageous histrionics that behavioral psychologists across the country wet 'em at the mere mention of his name? Maybe because this isn't the first time he's publicly engaged in race-baiting in order to boost his ratings?

Here's my challenge to Glenn Beck: Prove to me you're not working with this country's enemies. Maybe then I'll believe you're not a bigoted, disingenuous jackass.
