Excedrin products are priced differently but have the same ingredients

So my boss is working on his MBA at a pretty good school. We were talking today about some marketing items and he pointed out to me the following:

Extra Strength Excedrin® Express Gels® Product Information

Drug Facts

Active ingredients (in each gelcap) Purposes
Acetaminophen 250 mg ………………………………………………………………………………………..Pain reliever
Aspirin 250 mg (NSAID)* …………………………………………………………………………………….....Pain reliever

Caffeine 65 mg ……………………………………………………………………………………………...Pain reliever aid
*nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug

Compare this to:

EXCEDRIN® Migraine Product Information

Drug Facts

Active ingredients (in each tablet) Purposes
Acetaminophen 250 mg ……………………………………………………………………………………….Pain reliever
Aspirin 250 mg ………………………………………………………………………………………………….Pain reliever
Caffeine 65 mg ……………………………………………………………………………………………..Pain reliever aid

THE INGREDIENTS ARE THE EXACT SAME. NO DIFFERENCE.
Yet one is markedted to treat migraines and costs more than the other one, which is labeled as extra strength. It is just a marketing gimmick to get more cash out of you.

The difference in the prices: On Amazon, Excedrin Migrane lists at $16.93 while extra strength excedrin gels list at $16.10. Amazon usually gets you some good deals but I bet if you compare both products are Walgreens or CVS you might see differences larger than a dollar per box.

This practice is legal but it is also dishonest and shitty. Consumers need to learn to do more research to get the most bang for their dollar and not be ripped off.
