The little Tucson girl killed in the shooting Saturday was herself an office-holder, having just won a seat on her elementary school's student council.
A neighbor invited 9-year-old Christina Taylor Green to Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' event, thinking she might enjoy the political event, Christina's uncle told the Arizona Republic.
"The next thing you know this happened. How do you prepare for something like this. My little niece got killed-took one on the chest, and she is dead," her uncle, Greg Segalini told the paper.
Christina also enjoyed ballet and baseball, the paper reports.
