Hillary Clinton's popular-vote lead over Donald Trump has now surpassed 2.5 million votes, giving her a nearly 2 percentage-point lead over the president-elect. Clinton's lead over Trump has grown in the days following the election as remaining votes were tallied in Democratic strongholds across the country. Trump won the Electoral College with 306 votes to Clinton's 232, largely buoyed by his wins in traditionally Democratic states such as Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.
