Operation Care Package "Let No Hero Be Forgotten" is the motto of Operation Care Package, whose members are on a Christmas mission to get support and care packages full of gifts, goodies and needed items to men and women serving our country this holiday. Everyone who is put on the mailing list, no matter where they are from or what branch of service, is sent a package. Every package has at least one letter of support letting the service member know how thankful Americans are for their service. Packages also contain socks, snacks, hygiene items and a wrapped gift. The goal is to reach at least 8,000 to 10,000 troops this holiday. Visit the Web site at www.operationcarepackages.org to see how you can help. The group also is collecting donations to place wreaths on veterans' graves. Donations can be mailed to Operation Care Package, 611 Wilcox St., Joliet, IL 60435.
