The former deputy attorney general in the Clinton administration, who's now President-elect Barack Obama's reported choice to be attorney general, is expected to be confirmed by the Senate – but not without some serious scrutiny of his involvement in President Bill Clinton's controversial pardon of fugitive financer Marc Rich.
"It is an issue that has to be inquired into," Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter, the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said Wednesday on MSNBC. "Rich was a fugitive. They did not follow regular order. And we'll want to know in some detail as to what to Mr. Holder had to do with that.""
