Senator Jon Kyl was on FOX News Sunday along side Senator Dick Durbin. Earlier, LGR reported on Kyl's little problem with repeating the erroneous statements of Marine Commandant General James F. Amos, and now, he has decided that he is against the Zadroga bill, which would provide healthcare to the 9/11 first responders who rushed to the towers in order to try and save as many people as they could. Many are now ill with horrible diseases, and what Kyl wants to do is drag this out even further in hope of either killing the bill or letting 9/11 first responders die.
In words that echo those of Ebenezer Scrooge, Kyle said that he feels as if Congress is pushing too hard to pass the bill and he does not want to create "bad legislation". Besides, it can wait until next year when it has to be resurrected, and then Kyl wants to debate this bill until Hell freezes over.
Kyl said "It's a lot of money, so my early response is that I am skeptical about that bill." Of course, he is worried about fraud, or so it seems. It is the same talking point that the Republicans have used in the past to try and kill legislation to help people. He is worried about fraud rather than being worried about the lives, livelihoods, and suffering of many a brave woman and man who rushed to the Twin Towers while they were on fire and after when all that was left was a cloud of toxic dust and debris.
Kyl would rather make excuses than do what is right.
