Last week, we received word that Obama 2012 World Headquarters will be the Prudential Building. Knowing this, we had a feeling Obama's re-election campaign would start up very soon, and there is a general consensus that Obama will announce his run for a second term in office tomorrow.
According to CNN, Obama hopes to file papers with the Federal Election Commission tomorrow to jump start his 2012 run. Although nothing is set in stone and the White House is cautious to make any solid claims about Obama's 2012 campaign, it is highly anticipated that Obama will announce his re-election campaign early in order to get ahead on fund-raising, and also to get his campaign staffers back on their feet.
It's hard to believe that four years have passed since the last presidential election, and it is almost surreal to think about how 2012 will play out (barring any chance of the Apocalypse actually happening). The Republican Party has yet to announce any candidates, but it has been keeping busy with making April Fools jokes about Obama. Let's hope their actual campaign ads are more polished come election time.
