New White House chief of staff left JPMorgan with $8.7 million #p2

WASHINGTON — White House chief of staff Bill Daley took home nearly $8.7 million in salary and bonuses from JPMorgan Chase & Co. in a little more than a year before he left the financial giant.

Daley, 62, joined the firm in May 2004 and left in early January to become President Barack Obama's top aide. Daley was chairman of the Midwest region for the firm.

The figures are in a financial disclosure report required of top administration officials.

The report shows Daley received other money from JPMorgan and from two corporations on whose boards he served.

The roughly $8.7 million breaks down this way: Daley was paid nearly $6,800 for one week of work this year; a 2010 bonus of more than $4.8 million, paid this year; $675,000 in pay for 2010; and a 2009 bonus of nearly $3.2 million, paid in 2010.
